Your son or daughter will have the best time of his or her life at a summer resident camp. All of the camps are accredited by the American Camp Association and are licensed by the State of Michigan. The camps provide a safe and warm environment with trained staff. Each staff member is interviewed and references checked. A criminal background check is also required. There is certified health staff available 24 hours a day. Children return home from camp with enthusiastic stories about their counselors, new friends, good food, newly acquired skills and the great fun they have had. Many parents find that their child has developed greater confidence, independence and social skills. Most would like to return the following year. If you are interested in applying for a campership for your child, applications are available to download at this site, or they are available at your child’s school. Each application is handled in a confidential manner. Unfortunately our funds do not allow us to send all the children who apply, but we send as many as we can. When your child is at camp, he or she looks forward to receiving mail from home. It is best if your letters or cards contain a positive tone. Often children who receive letters claiming how much you miss them or that their dog is sick, etc., might begin to feel homesick and ruin their time away. Cheerful letters or cards will brighten their day! Camps prefer that parents not send food or candy because it is likely to bring mice and insects into the cabin. The food in the dining hall is nutritious and plentiful. You can look forward to enthusiastic stories when your child returns home from camp. |
